This document will walk you through the high-level steps you need to take when making changes to the health bot. Some steps link to more detailed pages.

  2. Get set up to make changes
  3. Make Changes to Scenarios
  4. Import the localization file and the scenarios into the Development bot instance, if they are not already there. Refer to step 2 document for more info on importing and exporting. 
  5. Update covid19-bot-translations
  6. Test the data with Data Team
  7. Inform CDC Clara Bot lead and their team that the new version is on development
    1. Fix any issues and repeat 3-7 as needed
  8. Wait for confirmation to push to production
  9. Push to production
  10. Update covid19-bot-translations
  11. Update GitHub repo

  12. After you've pushed the new English scenarios to production, you will send the localization file off to get translated. Send an email to the Health Bot team team. In the email include:

    1. The localization Excel file that you imported into production
    2. The list of changed / new String IDs in the file
  13. Wait for translations
  14. Update Non-English scenarios
  15. Complete steps 5-11
